People’s insistence on using Discord and Telegram is annoying

What confuses me is why anyone who has been banned from those platforms continues to use it. I always see people get banned and go, “Fuck, Discord banned my server. Gotta make a new one.” No, you don’t.

What’s wrong with making or joining a forum instead? At least then you won’t lose all your data because of some seething admin that decides to nuke your server for an edgy meme. “We won’t get as much engagement,” who cares. The people who primarily use chatrooms are not worth engaging with anyway.

Well, first making a server is much more easy than set up a forum. Now when its comes to join a forum, usually you are obligated to do a introduction post, something that no one wants, just to be able to post on some shit forum! The worst part is that in some forums, you need to wait for some mod/admin to authorized your account.
No one really wants to waste time to introduce themselves and/or wait around for a bunch of simple-minded retards to authorize their uploads/posts. Discord is just more easy. The problem with discord and many chatroom, its is impossible to have a organized conversation. Its too much fast paced, you barelly have time to do a well written post.

the reason why most people use discord and telegram is due to you being able to lively message people including your irl friends and also if your on an imageboard and want to keep in touch with some one theres always discord or telegram also unlike most internet-forums and imageboards you can post things and thus archive them because on forums alot of the time they shutdown unlike these messaging applications also discord and telegram is private o algo

I tried making a Ventrillo server but no one joined. This is what we used to game back in the day... was awesome.

Discord has voice chat, forums do not. You cannot game and communicate via forum bro... also I communicate with many clients via discord for business because it's faster and easier than e-mail. A forum wouldn't work for that either...

Nearly every company online does this, they sell the data to those who are interested in it and use it themselves to improve user engagement and other metrics they care for.
