I ordered a PS3 a while back, 2 of them for $50~, I may have already noted that albeit the console should be arriving soon so I am excited and ready to consoom. Once it does, I'm gonna make sure it works and play a few games I had gotten for it a while back. I'll have to get a power cable and a DS3 controller tho that won't be hard. I'll need an HDD for storing games too, but I think I have one laying around. I have COD MW1, Oblivion, and COD WaW so should be perfect for testing. I actually can't recall playing any of the 3 listed before. Technically I have COD Ghosts as well for PS3, but whatever. I also have Monster Hunter for PS2, so if I decide to mod my system, I will play it on PS3.

PS2 emulation kinda is a bitch on ps3. Overheating/turbine fans are common place

I thought the PS3 is backwards compatible with the PS2.

Launch models were, but some of the phats were not natively compatible, and later models like the slim certainly were not compatible. You can still run around 80% of the library if you mod your system I've heard, but it isn't basically 100% anymore.

What model did you get? I hear super slim is the best but that's the one I have and it doesn't really overheat but it does have turbine fans.
