I have a distant family member who works in Walmart (involved in the construction/expansion of buildings) who has told me before that the parking lots they construct for the super-centers cost millions (plural) of dollars to build. If you do the math on the average cost of asphalt and labor for parking lots, and the average super-center parking lot square footage, "millions" is peculiarly disproportionate to that calculated estimation, but he has told me time and time again, every time we have driven with him past one, that the parking lots cost a tremendous amount of money, millions. It makes me wonder if that could be involved with this theory.
