Gaming Modern day gamers (Rant)

I fucking hate the average modern day gamer. Most gamers nowadays can be divided into three groups, that being soyboys, normiefags, and tryhards. Starting off with soyboys, they usually gravitate towards long running franchises such as mario, sonic, or fnaf (Just search up AstralSpiff). The franchises that they do cling onto have obvious ran their course and are now currently being milked for profit from their target audience, that being children and soyboys. However, and interesting thing that occurs with soyboy gaming youtubers is that since the franchise they cover is usually stale and extremely easy, they start beginning and making up impossibly hard and unfun challenges in order to bring some sort of life back into the latest game. These challenges as previously stated aren't fun at all and miss the point of gaming entirely which leads into the next kind of gamer, the tryhard. Tryhards, like the soyboys usually craft impossible challenges for their favorite pieces of vidya out of "love" for the game." Althought the challenge itself usually is near uncompleteable to the point where it sucks all the entertainment out of the game, or the challenge requires you to do tens upon hundreds of hours of grinding in order to complete it. Where tryhards differ from soyboys is from the games they usually play. While a soyboy might enjoy some japslop crafted from shitendo that is easy to play and complete, a tryhard will play games like MMORPGS or FPS. Both of these genres not only are heavily saturated but also are mostly unplayable due to their heavily competitive nature. The competitive nature of these games usually make playing them at a casual level impossible and require the player to spend hours upon hours to get even somewhat decent at the game. Even then, the award given to the player after doing such a boring requirement is below-average gameplay that will leave you ripping hairs out of your head. Tryhards complete miss the meaning of what gaming is and what it means to be a gamer. The last main group left are normiefag gamers. The reason why I saved this group for last is due to the fact that there isn't much to say about them. Normiefag gamers usually play whatever slop is popular (Usually being a FPS or another kind of CO-OP game). They generally suck and might even try to act like they are a trve gamer, but it's extremely easy to see throught their larp. I fucking hate all 3 of these groups and I blame them for the downfall of gaming. I would love to hear your guys thoughts and opinions on the matter!

i guess you can call them modern gay gamers geg

MMORPGS or FPS. Both of these genres not only are heavily saturated but also are mostly unplayable due to their heavily competitive nature. The competitive nature
tsmt especially for MMORPG, back in the good old days, people used to play them for casual socializing and exploitation. Now everyone is a minmax sweat as if they were working in a factory, even for those supposed "nostalgic" private servers,

The normie gamers are the worst group of them all. This obsession with bloating up games to please the mainstream audience began with GTA and has gotten progressively worse because of them. Triple A studios now spend millions of dollars to compete with other studios for the best graphics because that’s what normies demand. Which also means there’s no chance for experimentation with smaller games because studios don’t want to risk losing money.

I think the best example of this is modern day streamers, the ones like Kai Cenat or IShowSpeed. They have extremely expensive setups that most are completely unnecessary since no one needs that amount of processing power, they are completely and utterly shit at any and all games that aren't fortnite, war-zone, or 2k20. They have completely and utterly shit taste in gaming and consume all slop that is popular. Sadly this is the majority of gamers and people like these larp as "real gamers".

I completely agree. I hate all those “Can I beat [Game] without pressing A or taking a single breath IRL?” That's not gaming. That’s performance art disguised as gaming.

Tryhards basically killed multiplayer by making casual play impossible. If you’re not on their level, you’re essentially locked out of half the multiplayer scene.

You’re calling normies “larpers” for playing popular games, but isn’t that what gaming always was? In the 90s, everyone played Mario and Doom. In the 2000s, it was Halo and GTA. Now it’s COD and Fortnite. If anything, normies are keeping gaming alive by pumping cash into the industry. You think gaming would be where it's at today if all we did was make roguelikes with 8-bit graphics and a story about existential dread? Unlikely.

At least those games before Fortnite were unique and debatably fun. Now everything is either a open world of empty grass or a battle royale.
