The only survival horror game that hasn't turned into troonslop is Manhunt
Rockstar made it and forgot about it, mostly with the first game's gate glitch, which prohibits you from getting through the first film, this is because anti-piracy, and can only be fixed by downloading a patch/fixer
The stealth in the first game is fine, you have the thing where you hide in the shadows, or against a wall. There's lures, wall tapping, and body hiding, much like MGS1.
The executions are simple, but hard to pull off, you pretty much have to hold the button for a few seconds, there's 3 levels of execution.
I personally had a huge problem with the combat, it's extremely hard, which is done to "Encourage stealth" the only good combat is when you use the guns, like the nail gun, which is pretty weak, but can blow up the explosive stuff. The enemies are basic AI, but sperg out when they turn or see you once, the sound design is great.
The second game, Manhunt 2, added SOOOOO much kino, now the enemies VILL find you if you don't hide in the shadows in the right way with the more complex stealth, there's more cutscenes, better enemy AI, more story, better controls, the only downside is it sounds like trash on headphones, and there's only one punch button, no heavy.
Manhunt 2 features executions where you swing your mouse or Wii remote around in certain directions for heckin brutality, unlike the first game where it's just a cutscene. Every version of Manhunt 2 is amazing, I played the PSP version, which had the worst censor, the executions are not that blurred, but turned really soft and less bloody. I played the Wii version, which I think has the best censor, I also own the uncensored AO PC version now.
