Google search is starting to push forum links to the top

They’ve updated their algorithm recently to favor user generated content that isn’t just Feddit or Quora. Now, I’m curious what this will mean for social media as it’s becoming more and more botted and spammed with AI generated content than ever before. People will naturally miss real human interaction and with this update it might give forums the boost they’ve needed for so long.

This is for old forums I assume. New websites are placed in the Google sandbox and are virtually shadow banned until Google decides to trust you. Still, it’s a step in the right direction.

Google is pushing forums higher, but Reddit is also benefiting from the changes. They probably noticed everyone adding “reddit” at the end of every question in search and decided to boost the SERPS for discussion sites in general. So it’s not much of a win.

Curiosity prompted me to take a look in the Google Analytics for the site today. In the first month we averaged at 2 clicks per day, then 5 clicks in the following month, and now we’re at 15 clicks. Perhaps Google truly is doing something right for once?
