Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to raise up offspring for your brother.”

But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother.

What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death also.

I love how in the bible God just fucking kills people all the time, It really makes some stories pretty funny
 
A lot of people think this is about birth control and claim you need to act like an African and not use condoms. Onan was killed because he disobeyed God completely.

OT God did not mess around. I saw a funny meme about it once. Thankfully for us, He sent His only Son so we are not punished for such things, and can rest in Him in the form of prayer so that we avoid intentionally sinning.
 
I found an explanation. Since Onan was not married, he had an obligation to marry his deceased brother’s widow, for the purpose of continuing the family line. Not only was he not willing to do this, he also disrespected the Lord’s command to be fruitful and multiply.

Basically, Onan just wanted to have sex with his brother’s wife, but not give her any children.

jesus will fix it and we are his medium
of course he won't descend from the skies because some shartskins are shooting themselves but we must do his work and he shall bless us with his eternal paradise
