Original Xbox GUI was AMAZING. Still the best GUI out of all consoles. Also, games had to blend the funtionality perfectly, for example Halo 2 had it's own cool UI for recent players, friends, clanmates, voice/text messages, and party invites. Then PSO would have it's own UI for friends, messages, etc. Was annoying for games like Halo CE where you would just end up offline because the game wasn't Xbox Live Aware, but overall still cool.

What about the GameCube UI?

What about the GameCube UI?
Gamecube UI was also pretty good. Although, for whatever reason, original Xbox just feels the best to me. It still had that cool "look" to it per se, similar to the Gamecube GUI, but had a ton of extra features that arguably made it way better. I'm pretty sure you could even do one-on-one voice chat in the OG Xbox Live menu, along with play+copy CDs. Given the fact it was keyed, I may actually try to get a few screenshots then publish them here, especially since I can show some cool stuff thanks to Insignia.

I was making a joke. The Gamecube doesn’t have a menu UI.
