Gaming Bought a 5080 and a 9070xt.

5080 prime oc paid $1310, was in a $1520 (after tax) bundle
9070xt nitro+ paid suprisingly $780 in a bundle that was $940 (After tax and came with a good psu I plan to sell cheap to a buddy)

Will return the 5080 once the XT arrives, but wow, it's an insane improvement over my 3060ti. Games were unplayable at my native res of 5120x1440, but now they run great. Frame gen helps in certain titles like Monster Hunter Wilds too.

Anyway, happy with the 9070xt purchase, will probably keep that seeing as I save so much money and it's only like 15% slower than the 5080. Might be able to OC it and reach 5080 levels. They raised the price of the card I bought right after purchasing it too, makes me feel better about mi buy. That nitro+ model is very sought after, it sells for $1,300 on ebay. Could just be gay and and scalp if the need arises.

If you have any questions about my upgrade 3080 -> 5080 prime oc (installed in my system) feel free.

How much frames are you getting on demanding games vs before?
It's insane on some titles, I'd get like 60 - 90 fps w/ frame gen (fsr3) on all low with my 3060TI on the finals. W/ the 5080 I get 200 - 260 w/ same settings, but dlss (No frame gen, only upscaling) instead. Pretty sure I also had like 60% res scaling on that 3060ti too, while the 5080 ran native. Helldivers 2 ran like 30fps w/ heavily reduced resolution now it runs 100fps on Ultra at native. Great upgrade. Downscaling to the 9070xt is a good idea for me, especially considering that I'm saving like $500 and getting 90% of the performance.

Only tried multiframe gen in rivals (Which btw I had to run all low at 2560x1080 w/ 60% res scaling) to get 165fps+. Was getting like 200 - 240FPS w/ 4x frame gen, though I definitely noticed the input lag. Overall, a good card at $999. Not at $1,310. 8GB ->16GB VRAM is definitely the biggest upgrade for me since I play at a higher res.

9070xt installed, amazing build quality. So far only ran Helldivers 2, in that game I got nearly identical performance to my 5080. (Within 5 frames)

One big con, some coil whine. Won't notice it will gaming, but still annoying. Will see if an undervolt will help.
