Gaming Zelda lore is pointless

After you beat demise in skyward sword (first game in the series lore wise) he puts a curse on “the blood of the goddess” and the spirit of the hero and that if they exist he will always come back so assuming this why couldn’t link after beating him just either

A wish away the curse of demise with the triforce considering he had it in his possession
Or
B kill Zelda (he would never do this but maybe a future one might have or assuming link fails and she dies)
Both of these cause demises curse to go away and link/the spirit of the hero will continue to exist because demise needs both to come back

You could argue he thought demise was just lying for no reason and people forgot about it existing but you would assume link would tell at least one person (probably Zelda) what demise told him and that she would write it down and because of her writing it down some other hero would find this and then wish away the curse of demise literally any sort of ancient source mentioning it would probably have caused some link to at least ATTEMPT getting rid of it

I just find it illogical that NO ONE would put any effort into actually trying to learn why this evil nigga comes back every 100 years or so and ask why is he always so pissed the royal family

Like do links just return to whatever they where doing before the game starts and not question why they had to go one some giant mission and at the end fight a literal demon king dose being the hero result a maximum iq of 65

I stopped caring about Zelda lore after it was confirmed there are three different timelines. I’d have preferred if they kept each story self-contained and separate from the other titles before they came up with that lame explanation.

Killing Zelda to break the curse is a dark path no Link would tread, even if it was the only way. Plus, if Zelda dies, who's to say another wouldn't take her place with the same curse, given the bloodline's continuity?

That doesn’t matter. Every title is self-contained.

I think the most reasonable explanation for A is that Triforce's power is backed it being the source of this world, while Demise predates the creation of the world. For B, the reason is that Demise does not disappear just because Zelda or Link dies. He is simply incarnated at a time where Link and Zelda also will incarnate. By the time they know that there is a Link and a Zelda running amok, it is already too late.

It’s due to the collective hatred of the demon clan that causes Demise/Ganon to return. See the original Japanese text:

人間よ! 我を凌駕せし 強き人間よ!! Human! You strong human, who has been able to overcome me!! ... That was splendid. But remember...this is not over… My hatred... The curse of the Demon Tribe... It shall go on continuously reincarnating across the flow of time… Never forget this! This will happen again! You... You who possess the blood of the Goddess and the soul of hero shall...forever be unable to escape from this curse! This hatred and grudge...its incarnations shall go on strugglingly wandering along with you lowlifes within a "Dark Sea" stained with your blood, forever!

"Being Zelda" is tied to blood; each Zelda is a direct descendant of the one from Skyward Sword. Assuming this bloodline ends by Zelda dying, the blood of the goddess will no longer be a thing, and thus one of the main things that causes Demise to come back will halt in the monologue Demise has as he states that as long as BOTH the bloodline and spirit of the hero are a thing, he will come back—not one or the other.

My point for the lore being pointless is if we take him word for word for what he says, getting rid of one will result in the end of the curse; hence the best thing for the current link to do is kill Zelda after banishing the demise incarnation once again (or ideally before, say, in Twilight Princess, he kills Zelda).

Are all Zeldas direct descendants of each other? Or are they just part of the same royal family, and thus share the same blood? Plus I'm pretty sure having the incarnation of Hylia in this world is probably necessary for some reason or another ou algo

They're more like different branches of the same royal tree, sharing the same royal blood but not always mother to daughter.

wtf zelda has a lore?

Zelda is the most average game series on Earth, all the critics and fanboys act like its the second coming of Jesus Christ but to me the games are just OK. The games are fun enough but not interesting enough for me to sit down and actually play through a whole game and the plot is never really gripping, the puzzles are either easy or you will need to look up a guide (Zelda 1 is probs my favorite Zelda game anyways).

They are perfect for a 13/14 year old to waste some time on for a day or two on or for like totk in my case a week

True. I’ve beaten most Zeldas once and typically don’t ever feel like replaying them. With the exception being BOTW.
