Gaming What do you consider to be the best generation of consoles?

I’d pick the sixth generation for having a massive library with some of the greatest games ever made. And it was before the fps trend got kicked into full gear so we had plenty of variety.

Fourth generation is a close second for the SNES alone.

I barely play games, but I'd say the seventh generation. I liked the Xbox 360 and the Wii.
I remember playing Super Mario World on the SNES in third grade, that was fun.

For me, I’d argue the sixth generation stands out as the strongest overall. It was when developers had enough power to create expansive and polished games, but without the bloat or over-reliance on monetization we see today. The PS2 alone had a library so massive and diverse that it feels impossible to exhaust.

I do, however, have a soft spot for the seventh generation for taking a big leap forward in online multiplayer.

This. Albeit I did enjoy when you could trash talk players without getting banned. I made a lot of friends that way.
Yeah, I feel like back then nobody gave a shit about what you said lobbies or what not. At least not in "We have to ban these users because they are ruining my gaming experience!" type of way.
Now you have twitch fags bitching about "oh, someone told me they were going to rape me!" like nigga who cares bro, just take off your headphones and they don't exist anymore.

I hate this gaming breakthrough, what multiplayer games have done to the gaming industry and gaming as a whole has been terrible. I fear we may never recover from it's consequences.
mmo games were good for a few years until like late 00s when they got overran by minmax sweat, worthless nerds kill the online gaming for me, haven't played any online game for over a decade.
