History Was WW2 considered a race war?

if you are talking in the sense of defining the future of various european and international racial groups then it could be considered a race war but there were a couple of weird loyalties in it like indian, arab and even british ss divisions

No it was a war for german survival, read stalins war he planned to turn all of europe red and the brits and french were instigators who took every chance to ensure a war to destroy germany, but in turn the french and the brits empire are gone now russia is smaller the us is an economic zone germany is gay but atleast we arent speaking german!, a sad war that did not need to start

Yup. The firebombing of Dresdan was completely unnecessary and evil and was only done because the world hates Germans.

I think it depends on how you define "race war." The Japs and the Americans weren't fighting for the direct goal of extincting the adversary's entire people, but they did certainly have racial prejudices against one another that they imbued into the brutality of their warfare, with many of the men in either of their forces seeing the opposing military as a rotten gang of vicious beasts intent on utter evil (later proving each other right in these prejudices with the Jap mass torture and slaughter of White prisoners and the savage American bombings of the Japanese homeland, respectively).

Over a hundred thousand Japs perished just on Okinawa. I can't even begin to imagine the suffering that would have been caused by an American invasion of the mainland. One fascinating thing about the land invasion idea is that the U.S military actually intensified production of Purple Heart medals in preparation for it, leaving them with a surplus of around 500,000 by the time the war ended. They were expecting a horrendous number of casualties.
