It’s true humans need a religion of some sort to prosper. Even so-called atheist liberals worship The Science or put up statues of nignogs and bow before them. It becomes a problem when religion tries to but it’s head into the good of the nation. For example: Jesus says he came to Earth to bring a sword that divides families and pits its members against each other. So your Dad that raised you and supported you his whole life is going to hell because he doesn’t believe in Jesus. Tough shit. Then you have Islam which tells you to outright kill the non-believer.
The better alternative to this is a reformed Christianity that guts out the Jewish division and pro-weakness teachings and emphasizes on unity of the people.
