You could do that, like hide one in a basement or attic and watch TV there. The problem is that its a hassle vs just telling TV inspectors not to come in.

In America you just pay for cable or Netflix none of that license shit.

When you buy a TV in a store sometimes you have to give your address etc. and then they have a databank on people who don't pay their TV license. They will send a TV inspector to your house whos really just a glorified salesman to try to get into your house to inspect your property for a TV. However you don't have to let them in so you could theoretically have a TV but just not let TV inspectors inside.
