Thinking of buying a motorcycle

I've always wanted to drive a motorcycle, but the other day a dude drove by me on the highway on one. His jacket was fluttering in the wind, this guy had so much aura. Then I go to uni, everywhere I go I see a biker. Gonna buy a bicycle, learn how to ride it, and then take the necessary courses before buying my gear and motorcycle. I know it's dangerous, but I'm a very safe driver. I don't want a motorcycle to speed down the highway with, just to save money and enjoy the experience. Besides, the risk is something I'm willing to take and I've got a well paying job. I wouldn't be a young man if I didn't make an irresponsible financial decision now, especially when I've already got a fully functioning and well maintained hybrid vehicle.

You are 28 times more likely to die in a motorcycle crash than in a car crash. My dad used to ride bikes until he sustained injuries to his back after hitting another vehicle, and had to get 8 surgeries where they attached metal rods attached to his spine and screwed them together. Think carefully if this is something you want to take a risk for some temporary fun.

Yeah, I've heard stories of death, injury, amputation, etc. It's gruesome, but something I am ready for. Also, I think a large part of the statistics have to do with egotistical people who willingly put themselves at risk by going at insanely high speeds and slower (mentally) folk who don't understand traffic laws like right of way, etc. See, I'm a special boy, so nothing bad can ever happen to me.

Anyway, since I'm in Virginia, I'm looking at bikes that would be easy to source parts for and maintain. Don't know much, but looking at brands seen within the area, moto guzzi has made a motorcycle called the v7 and those made after 2016 have ABS, seem very easy to maintain, and are relatively cheaper than other options. This kind of bike makes sense, because I'll be on the highway a lot and it has a 700+ cc engine, so I don't need to worry about redlining it when going 70+ on the highway. And looking into crime statistics, thieves hardly steal moto guzzi bikes. The only thing I need to be certain of is their reliability now, as I've never heard of the Italian brand until today. I'll do some more research later. Either way this whole thing will probably take a couple months to a year before fruition, so nothing is set in stone right now.

If its between dying from a motorbike accident and dying from a random migrant attacking you on the subway I pick the former
Depends on how grave the motorbike accident is, you wouldn't want to end up in the ones where you end up becoming a red crayon :...:

@Dawood is a random migrant. Stop encouraging a Paki to buy a fucking motorcycle. It poses a serious threat to society.
Snopes? is xhe actually a paki tet :cage:
Born in the USA, Pashtun from Afghanistan. White on U.S. Census btw LOOOOOOOOL :cage:
This user wants you to become roadkill do NOT listen to what he says
Statistics skewed because of low iq monkeys who don't wear ppe, drink and drive, or/and speed. Anyway, like I said before I'm a special boy, so I should be good.

Then it should be perfect for you.

Just because you were born here doesn't make you a citizen. A Jewish Israeli will always be a migrant until they return back to Europe, where they belong.
As a Jewish man, I'm deeply offended by this act of antisemitism. You have been reported to the Trump Administration and Mossad, prepare for deportation (extradition) to Israel where you will be kept in a dungeon. Leave this stuff elsewhere or on my profile page, not this thread about motorcycles. :...:

Even with all of that it's still pretty dangerous due to it basically being a mechanized bike, no protection whatsoever unlike a car
If you're saying you're sure about it then do it but I would spend that money in more mantainance for my vehicle

Yeah, it's definitely dangerous, I don't deny that. When I buy a motorcycle, I'll buy the best PPE I can afford. Leather jacket, good motorcycle boots, proper pants, safety rated armor inserts, electric airbag vest, a real helmet, etc to minimize damage to myself. Gonna look into crash bars and other modifications too. I've already got a great vehicle, but being a consoomer, I guess I will always want more.

Gonna have a whole lot of time to prepare for all of this and after the motorcycle road skills test, I think that's when I know whether or not to fully commit.

i think the high rate of motorcycle crashes is because of the demographics bikes appeal too, irresponsible young men
just dont be a retarded nigger and youll be fine, my great grandpa is 82 and still rides his bike, quite fast i might add, in encountered him once and he sped past me as im a responsible driver

Don't listen to people claiming it's dangerous. Riding a bike on an empty highway without an helmet will cure your depression. I can't express how much I want to bike through America(they have the best highways for this). Imagine travelling from New York to California on motorcyle.

Tsmt. Highways are statistically safer BTW, accidents happen the most in low speed intersections and areas where basic shit like right of way are at play. I would want to bike through America if I could, but I'm just too busy. I think I'll go to West Virginia and the Appalachian area in general at the bare minimum though.

Looking at bikes again, my top pick is still the Moto Guzzi v7. I like its style and simplicity.

I'd get an American made motorcycle if I could, but that'd mean selling my car because they're expensive as fuck. Harley Davidson and Indian bikes, to be clear. Their older models from the early 2000s are often more expensive than foreign bikes. Meanwhile the Guzzi v7 is 3-6k for a 2018+ if you find an alright deal.
