I'm so disappointed that we have not had an animated Sonic movie for over 20 years. Apparently the two live action movies were good, but I cannot stand to watch them. I never heard of anyone liking the "cartoon animal stuck in real world" trope, yet here we are.
I have always disliked Shadow, and really all of the 3d era characters.

Animated movies are considered childish to the majority of people. I think it’s been a decade since the last successful one which was a Spongebob film. I just don’t get why it has to be in a generic New York style city every single time.

I feel like an animated Sonic movie is different. Sure, it may not land in big theaters, but there is a place for it. Ironically, I feel this live action film will alienate all adults. Sonic as a franchise is at its best when it is designed for all ages. Anyone of any gender or age can get into it. This movie I cannot imagine any grown adult wishing to watch it unironically. I am not trying to be insulting to adults who may enjoy it, but I really do not find any quality in it. Hell, if you're just a child that is into Sonic series you most likely would still not even enjoy it. I would just constantly wish I was watching a movie in a real Sonic world with those classic levels. Not the weird buddy-comedy like the first movie.
It is just Hollywood slop.

Shadow is genuinely one of the dumbest characters in the entire series. Just use Metal Sonic as a rival for Sonic. That character certainly fits in better with the universe. You can tell SEGA does not know what to do with the character, but fans keep begging for him to be a more active participant in the video games, so they have to find a way shoehorn him into to places where he does not belong.
Shadow Generations? Hahaha, the character has not even been playable in that many games.

I mean, he’s alright. Shadow is such a try-hard character that he shifts from being cringe into entertaining. Metal Sonic has no personality.
