SNES is just better in every way. Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, and Donkey Kong Country 1-3 > SMW. Plus SNES emulators can run on your phone easily.

I always get filtered on the last levels of the classic mario games :itsover:

I beat 3 but I gave up on world. To answer the OP question, yeah cartridges are super expensive. Buy a moddable console with a good controller, like a ps3.

World was harder than 3 for you?

Not really. I beat 3 around 2 months ago and I was on the last world of world this month. I just didn't find it worth completing. Did also get spoiled on the ending years ago so there's that. Might go back but I was kinda tired of the difficulty spikes. Looking forward to playing mario 2, I used to play it a lot as a kid on my Wii, good times.

The turnip one. Very glad they chose it for the west. You basically have to be a bug person to prefer mario 1 but harder and with those stupid springs lol.
I never bothered beating it.

Going back to the SNES, have you ever tried Donkey Kong Country?

i'd be lying if i said turnip mario wasn't fun (beat it in less than a week on an old gameboy) but the movement is slow as shit and i prefer running like a coke-high spic in the original mario

N64 clears, it has a smaller library but the percentage of good games is higher and they tend to be cheaper to buy physically than SNES games. This applies to hardware too the N64 is a cheap gen for gaming.
