We have a user on this forum, @Thadman, he's a good looking "mentalcel" on the spectrum and was making not very well thought of posts about social affairs. He was given a visit by FBI.

You can tell he is not a radical, he just vents about wetbacks and wants to "bond" with people. Everyone needs frens.

So, the fact is, Thadman was visited by FBI and he also told about other similar anecdotes he knows.

You got that? Let's proceed.

This forum has:

- A user with "Breivik" avatar and Tarrant manifesto in the signature. This guy wasn't visited by FBI? What would his reaction to that visit be?

- A user with nickname ending on "88" and very prying about what's what, like what forum I created. He asked about it twice (no one else did, not even Weebhunter9000 to whom this info is more important).

I'm also something of a web site owner myself and I don't see this forum using Cloudflare. It takes 5 minutes to set up Cloudflare. Without Cloudflare, website's admin can see everyone's IP addresses.

Everyone says Master is a fed, but he does use Cloudflare. This website doesn't.

So?

This is interesting, server side logs don't show real IPs (the ones in /var/log/apache) but Xenforo's admin panel does. This can only mean that Xenforo has a JS script that hits a third-party website and that website returns user's IP address. This could be how they detect illegal usage of the software.

I'm not going to guess how this can be disabled, maybe by choosing "strict" end-to-end encryption on Cloudflare or it's somewhere in the Xenforo options.
 
why don't you guys just use tor? not like it is invincible but at least the IP address stuff won't matter. bet feds aren't going to go drop an 0day on you for complimenting the lesbian nana police officer like you are a darknet drug kingpin or something.
 
oh and cloudflare glows. id rather trust whoever runs some servers (might be trustworthy, could even be anon + bulletproof hosting) than delegate any core responsibilities to a corporation that almost certainly has people employed full-time to help feds chug data.

Most people won't be assed to learn to use tor to access a forum like this. I could make a Tor domain for the site as an alternative for anyone that wants it but VPN's are allowed anyway.
