Gaming MMO nostalgia thread

I hope we have some oldfags that lived long enough to answer this. Do you have any particularly fond memories of playing MMOs back in the 2000s and 2010s?

I remember this time in EverQuest, when my group decided to explore the Plane of Fear without a guide. We were underleveled, but the fear of not knowing if we'd make it through alive made it one of the best experiences I had in that game. We ended up wiping a few times, but after a few hours we finally got our first boss down. That feeling of sharing your triumph with your friends is what MMOs are all about for me.

There was a korean MMO football game I used to play. For some reason they had servers for South Korea and Turkey but I don't think they had any servers in europe or north america. It was pretty fun, it had the card system for players before FIFA and PES. Plus it had a very unique art style that set it apart from any other football game. The game shut down back in I think 2017-18, I still kinda miss it.

World of Warcraft and Grepolis were the only ones I’ve played and liked. I remember leading an alliance of 30 players as we tried to fight for control of our part of the world. Eventually, I backstabbed them by exchanging information with another alliance in order to get an invite to join their team :gigachud:. Then they backstabbed me once I gave them everything I knew.

There was this one I vaguely remember playing as a small child called Wizard101 that I later quit playing after my grandmother shared to me her legitimate concerns of how I was dabbling in occult witchcraft by playing a video game about magic. I don’t actually remember anything else about the game besides my grandmother’s panic over its digital wizardry.

Reminds me of the days when my parents used to tell me Pokemon is satanic.

I used to be obsessed with MapleStory until the company started to hate on its own player base by adding in useless features. That aside, I always hopped on after school with my friend group and we’d stay up all night on the weekends playing.
Maplestory was also my thing until bigbang which completely ruined the game for me. You know the game sucks now when they changed their mascots from wholesome critters to loli waifus.

I played Maple 2 in school for like 3 weeks. They banned our accounts for trolling even though my friend did nothing and I was the annoying one.

I remember the golden age of Minecraft MMOs and said content of Minecraft MMOs being produced on YouTube and watching it for the entertainment

There was a sequel? I had no clue.
I spent the rest of the months before the game shut down shield bash stun locking people until they quit the duel, and then shit talking in global chat that I am undefeated in duels.
They shut it down because of you.
