I didn't use a guide, but Ive been practicing ship builidng in minecraft for years now

It built by me alone and survival only (survival was the only game mode in this version)

How did you get the mobs to spawn like that? I was only aware of dungeon farming.

Its easier if I show you but basically the mobs spawn in a dark room, and randomly walk of the platforms they spawned on into a water stream which connects into a central pipe filled with water ( with air pockets throughout so they don't drown on their way up).

In this version at least, the mobs will always swim up when in water, so they swim up the pipe, and then get carried into they lava
