Léon Degrelle (1906-1994) was a Belgian politician and military leader known for his association with the far-right Rexist Party in Belgium during the 1930s and 1940s. A charismatic and controversial figure, he led the Rexist movement with fervor and espoused pro National socialist views. During World War II, Degrelle and his followers collaborated with Germany, and he even served in the Waffen-SS, rising to the rank of SS-Standartenführer. After the war, he fled Europe and lived in exile in Spain until his death in 1994. Degrelle was a unapologetic fascist to the end.
