Yeah, theistic evolution as they call it. This is extremely faulty theology. I could go on a very long rant about it here but to put it briefly: The Genesis narrative contradicts with evolution, our narrative is one of mankind's fall from grace and perfection into a state of death and sin, while the evolutionary narrative is the exact opposite. It tells you about mankind's rise from the animal status to something enlightened or whatever. These two narratives cannot be reconciled, any attempt at doing so is a massive cope and I would argue spiritually harmful to the person. No one can serve two masters.

I had someone tell me that Genesis is up to interpretation. That it’s all just metaphors which is why they believe chimps evolved into humans.
It made me realize it’s no wonder there are so many variations of Christianity.
People use "Christianity" as a social status flex, "I'm a good person"...
They interpret the Bible to their liking rather than using scripture to interpret it for them.
