Gaming Is Dark Souls 1 Any Good?

It’s good, but a bit dated. The first half of the game is a fun experience with lots of branching paths and environments. The second half is flat out bad, and the game becomes linear while spamming the most annoying enemies at you. You can clearly see they ran out of time and it feels like a whole different game.

I would suggest Dark Souls 3 if you want a consistent game all the way through.

Dark Souls 3
But I heard it is a straight out linear slaughtering fest.
Dark Souls is overrated. Play Bloodborne instead if you want good music, exploration, bosses, literally everything Beta Souls pretends to have.
Don't have piss station console and don't plan to ever get one.
I dont know, I never played any dark souls game
Me neither, I always think the dodge roll gameplay looks boring and silly, I just run out of games to play and wonder if the first dark souls offers more than just killing enemies. Maybe I should try out silent storm instead or make another playthrough in vtmb.

It looks boring as hell, just your generic 3d action game with "learn da bosses and control". I never understand the appeal of hardcore 3d action games, if I want to play anything likes that I'd just go with their 2d counterparts such as megaman, at least the mechanics are more clear, and no "cool" qte animation shit and nor unreal engine particle eyeraping.

I wouldn't really consider it hardcore, if you're bad at the game and can't improve just keep leveling up and filling out your skill tree to make the game easier. You don't lose anything when you die. It's got amazing graphics, good mechanics, and a nice story. If you're trying to tell me megaman is better than black myth wukong you're a delusional old fart that needs to try out new releases.

I watched the gameplay of it and it's looks generic, fighting bosses after bosses in uninspiring flat terrain with lengthy animation and dodge roll™. Megaman games are probably too simple for today's cacas but at least they have better level design and isn't prolonged to 20 hours.

So I actually give it (the first game) a try and here's my first impression:
- It screams "CONSOLE GAME" in pretty much every way possible, the most glaring issue is the camera, it's janky as fuck with nauseating low FOV, I have to play this shit on 1280*720 resolution so I won't vomit on my keyboard.
- Got killed multiple times because of that, sometimes you can't even see what are hitting you because of the fucked up camera angle, especially when against ranged enemies.
- The actual difficulty seems to be rather mild, made it to the taurus boss and killed it in my first try within 1.5 hours of playtime. Probably gonna be harder at the later stage of the game.
I will continue playing it, but it's really isn't something I'd recommend. I'm playing with mouse and keyboard only though which may be why I'm not really fond with the control.

A controller is far better than a keyboard for third person action games like Dark Souls. Especially since DS was designed with a controller in mind.

Managed to kill the spider boss (called Quelaag I think) at 7.5 hours mark, didn't use the fov mod as I'm start getting used to the vanilla setting, the control is still crap, however.
I think I'm done today, see how far I can get tomorrow.

Finally beat this shit, I did enjoy it somehow admittedly, the level design before Sen's Fortress is fine (I did also like Demon Ruin and Duke's Archive though, didn't play the DLC areas since they are just optional hidden contents centered around boss fights afaik). But boss fights fucking suck, pretty much all of them. Fighting some oversized goofs that are far bigger than your screen is anything but fun, and the hit detection, physic, camera are all pain in the ass. I can now confirm that
If you're trying to tell me megaman is better
isn't just some old fart screeching, 2D action games mog their 3D parts harder than chadrone mogging a manletcel. I'd probably give it a positive rating still if there were no bosses/kept mininal (like Blade of Darkness but with Dark Soy's map design). At least now I can criticize dark soy and it's clones without redditors accusing me being butthurt.
And also, the soundtracks suck, I can't even remember any of them outside the menu theme. They all sound generic that I'd even assume they were done by ai if dark soy was released today.
