Mostly froggy posting weird maps again.
 
Maybe it's the edge of our known world, leading into another dimension or realm where the laws of physics as we know them don't apply. A place where ancient civilizations or undiscovered species roam.
All those lost explorers who vanished without a trace, may have been unable to return after crossing the border. Which is why the world government fights to prevent anyone from exploring the Arctic.
