David Irving did excellent original research on the bombing of Dresden and V2 rocketry wunderwaffen development and is never given enough credit for exposing the Hitler diaries forgery, but as he aged he became increasingly eccentric (the fate of all Englishmen) so his later works sadly aren't of the same quality as his early works.
A few of his lolcow moments off the top of my head:
-claimed a special spiritual connection to Hitler because Hitler launched Operation Barbarossa or something close to Irving's birthday
-fell for an obviously fake and hideous watercolour painting attributed to Hitler even though he is very aware of the massive Hitler forgery industry https://fpp.co.uk/Hitler/
-claimed Churchill had a jewish grandparent due to misunderstanding a joke in a jewspaper (https://www.gnxp.com/blog/2007/04/churchills-jewish-ancestry-not_08.php)
Even so he's a true historian and a good fellow who makes all his books and research freely available on his website. He had to start from scratch too as filthy shabbos capos confiscated his research materials immediately after he lost his libel trial against the kikess liar.

He was never a "Holocaust denier" which the kikess Deborah Lipstadt accused him of being in her book Denying the Holocaust: the Growing Assault on Truth and Memory (published by Penguin, the defendant in the lawsuit you named). He only said that there were fewer than 6 gorillion deaths, that the true death count of Jews executed by Nazis was closer to 1 million. The jury acquitted the kike defendants even though they did lie about and defame Irving, because britbongs are eternal Anglo cucks just as they were in the 1930s.

Because in March 1945, Speer quietly moved most of the papers of his Ministry to a railroad car near Hamburg.
Here, he and some trusted friends sifted through the papers to remove and destroy all references to his knowledge about the Holocaust.
Some people, however, had hidden some of these papers without him knowing.
At the Nuremberg Trial, the prosecution couldn’t find any hard evidence that Speer knew about the Holocaust.
After his release, Speer published his memoirs and was interviewed by a lot of historians. He was well-liked and historians, especially in Britain were fond of him and defended him.
It was David Irving (of all people) who discovered the hidden papers and could prove Speer was lying.
Now historians who had defended Speer could do two things: either admit they had been conned … or ignore Irving and try to destroy his reputation.
They went for the second option. This resulted in Irving beginning to write revisionist books; a sort of vengeance against the established historians.
By now, of course, other historians have examined these documents and modern biographies will clearly identify Speer as having been complicit in the Holocaust.
