Laconic speech is deceptive. You're just communicating as little information as possible to make it seem like you dropped a trvth nvke.
The reason why insults hurt is not because they communicate some very damaging information. It's because they
vaguely convey
something that's damaging. So the recipient is left to fill in the blanks with their own insecurities.
Insults are fundamentally psychotic for this reason. They get you to imagine things that don't actually exist.
Like when someone says "You're a fag lmao shut up," or "This is dumb," this conveys almost no information. But these insults are the very best. Whereas the more descriptive you become, the lamer the insult becomes. "You are the reason why God created the middle finger."
It's just gaslighting.
I still insult people when they're being a bitch or have really awful political views, but I don't do it as much because I really feel like brevity is the soul of mid-wit. You can typically spot retards by their blunt, laconic style -- for example Alt Hype. Alt Hype is gifted and knows a lot of things, but he has a psychotic view of the world; he views everything in caricature. And that's the main reason why he's still making 2017-era talking points. In his mind, everything is "really simple," and he doesn't need to listen to anyone who disagrees with him. Like I remember one time I proposed an idea to him about political activism, and he just replied "No." and refused to elaborate, as if what I had said was so obviously stupid that it didn't need to be explained. Well, I finally got it out him (even though we were friends, I had to ask him many times), and he just made a really lame-ass point about how the institutions are already compromised, as if I didn't already know that.
Liberals are less sophisticated in their laconic speech-games. They just flat-out gaslight you, they pretend that they don't know what you're talking about at all. (They also tend to write walls of text). When reactionaries are laconic, they try to structure real arguments -- just "enhanced" with brevity. So reactionaries are more deliberate than liberals, who are just reacting emotionally.
I'm not saying that I'm against jokes, quips, irony, or brevity
at all, but there's a difference between finding the gigachad meme funny and thinking that you're literally a gigachad. If you were to do that stuff in front of Hitler, he would just think that you're a retard, and even if he had our cultural knowledge, he wouldn't be very impressed. The trendy hipsterism of the modern right simply reflects a lack of seriousness. It's just artifice masking a failed subculture. In a serious movement, there is less signaling / posturing / humor simply because the movement has to economize for real utility.
So, observe the way that people present themselves as time goes on. When the wordplay becomes less popular, that's when you know that it's finally happening.
