A few things. For one, Philip Hinchcliffe was shown the door for being too dark, and was replaced with Graham Williams who was given a mandate to make things kid-friendly.

Then there’s Tom himself. He starts to push the Doctor toward humor, making him less like the unknowable Time Lord and more a quirky uncle.

Of course, the budget cuts didn’t help either.

I consider this an exception, not the rule. Season 15 generally avoids the horror and gore elements compared to some prior seasons.

Finished Inferno. It’s gonna be hard finding a story to surpass this one because this was a near 10/10 arc for me. Some parts dragged on here and there but the tension and parallel world was done extremely well. Probably some of the best television I’ve ever witnessed.

Now I’m currently watching Cortex’s debut.

Time flight may be the story to surpass this one
