kinda fucked up that they couldn't get a proper burial for him cus all the seething kikes were still pissed off at him even when he was a bullet ridden corpse and held protests when they were tryna bury the poor guy. Still, he knew what he was getting in to when he decided he was gonna go on marches in the street in Nazi uniforms in Burgerland right after WWII during the whole civil rights movements and associating with the types of people who were bat-shit insane enough to join his movement which eventually lead to him being gunned down by the guy he ex-communicated, or maybe the feds whacked him like they did with MLK.

The ANP was pretty much the realization of that for the American national socialists (I guess the German-American Bund and its banishment during World War Two could be classified as an earlier example, but for post-Hitler national socialism in America, the end of the ANP in particular could instead be seen as the turning point). After Rockwell was shot to death and the organization began to crumble, the majority of them realized that a legal, democratic process was fruitless for making an effort to achieve their goals. Another example in the same sphere of politics, albeit unrelated to national socialism, would be David Duke's attempts in congress during his tenure as a Louisiana congressman, which, while a little successful, only really delayed what he was fighting against by a very short span of time.

Yeah, the main reason they waved around flags like that within the U.S military when they were out in places from Vietnam to Iraq to Afghanistan is just because the flags looked cool. Same reason for the Stars and Bars or the Jolly Roger flags that show up every now and then in some of their pictures. The guys flying them don't usually actually care about the political or historical elements that they represent. They're all banners associated with war, so they're simply intimidating.
