It's a part of my childhood, but it really isn't worth watching imo, not much different from other slice of life school comedy. The only reason why it is hyped so much is because of 4cucks millennials, as it's one of their first exposures to weeb culture alone with Rozen Maiden.

Your feeling doesn't mean much to me when I've actually finished the series. It's good and I don't say that about a lot of animation.
If you want more examples I enjoyed here you go:
Golgo 13 - Non-linear stories about a deadpan hitman whose inhuman skills w/ firearms are displayed in every episode, he's also a womanizer o algo(Warning: It's lowkey mid, but what he's capable of doing is so ridiculous it's a good comedy)
Vinland Saga - Aryanime about Northen European conflicts in America (Vinland), decent amount of blood, + strong themes of revenge/forgiveness
Berserk - Traumatized man swings around big sword, love conflict, lots of blood, big on revenge, story lengthens past the anime in the manga, however, there is a weird "philosphoical" side, especially in the manga that I'm not a fan of. You might like that stuff.
Vagabond - Manga about a heckin' samurai and his adventures, wholesome philosophy o algo, good read
Baki and Hajime No Ippo - Never watched/read these, but ppl say they're good
Unrelated, but one of my favorite animes is called Kaiji. It's about a gambler who gets himself into a crazy amount of debt, lowkey peak and highly unnoticed.

The one on the right is the manga of a certain Aryan classic. The story is that there is a bear who is harassing a town, killing animals and humans. The main character is a bear hunting dog named Gin (my pfp). In the beginning the humans and Gin try to kill the bear. Eventually Gin leaves the humans to fight other dogs and to assemble an army of dogs to kill the bear. And in the end the bear is killed. After that the dogs fight wolves but that is SNCA.
The one on the left is a prequel to the one on the right. It tells the story of a character named Riki (Gin's father).
