Conspiracy “Money doesn’t buy happiness” is one of the worst sayings that gets repeated to this day

I say this to TSMT TRVKE This was probably no not probably literally a psy-op done by rich people to stop them from becoming the same level as them. literally they are the only ones who say this

We actually studied this very thing in my international religions class at school around a month ago when looking at Buddhism's perception of happiness in comparison to various other views, including contemporary research on a correlation of capital and joy. There was one particular study that was just published this summer by a researcher fellow named Matthew Killingsworth which I found interesting to read, as his findings display a clear, exponential increase in happiness dependent on how high the wealth of a person in American society is, unlike previous studies from around a decade prior, which instead suggested a "plateau" where, after enough wealth is accrued, the level of happiness and satisfaction with life that a person could have slows and stagnates. Killingsworth addresses that idea near the end of his writing, too.

Definitely made by boomers. “Pull yourself up by the bootstraps” “Stop drinking coffee if you want money to buy a car” are some of my other favorites.
I believe that the original intention of the saying is that money won't fulfill you as an individual if you are someone who is miss guided, a good way to look at it is too look at the three things that OP said. Without money you can't buy food, but it is also extremely harmful if you buy junk food that kills you body anyways. Without money you can't raise a family, but who cares about having a family if you are a mostly absent husband and father. Without money you can't cover medical bills, however you won't need to pay for those medical bills in the first place if you are careful and treat your body like a temple. Sadly this interpretation has been mostly forgotten about since most people who say the saying are usually both miss-guided and poor geg.

i think this saying is just one of those that actually sends a great message but is poorly worded/oversimplified hence, gets misinterpreted a lot. to me, it isnt that money does not buy happiness but more of that you shouldnt let money define your happiness or something like that. money can play a role in your happiness, sure, definitely, but dont let the pursuit of it or other wordly possesions distracts you from the true satisfaction of watching niggers die
